The 2009 Linemans Rodeo must be postponed.  We were unable to receive enough registered teams to warrant holding the rodeo.  We sincerely regret this unavoidable decision.  We hope that 2010 will bring about better economic conditions for everyone and wish all a blessed 2009.

Sign in deadline is now February 28th, 2009
If you sign up AFTER that date you will have to pay $375 per team to compete. If you get your papers in before that date, you compete for free.

2009 Entry Fees Waived
In light of the recent economic issues we have decided to waive all entry fees to the 5th Annual World Championship Lineman's Rodeo in Shreveport Louisiana on April 24-25, 2009. Also due to the economy we have decided to NOT HOST ANY SENIOR EVENTS this year as well. Any teams/individuals/apprentices MUST fill out the entry forms and still send them in, in order to compete or you WILL NOT be able to attend and compete. Just fill the forms out like you normally would and send them in to the address provided.

The deadline for signup is February 28, 2009. We can not host you if you cant sign up by that date.

PRIZES The first year of the WCLR, $9,600 in cash prizes were awarded to the event winners along with $13,000 in belt buckles and plaques. The WCLR held its third annual event in March 2007 awarding $32,000 in prizes.

EVENTS The WCLR will have traditional speed events of the egg race and hurtman rescue, along with two mystery events for senior, journeyman and apprentice linemen. Additionally, we will host individual mystery events for journeyman linemen. These individual events will be open to any journeyman lineman interested in showcasing their skills separate from a team.

ENTERTAINMENT Additionally, entertainment for the children and other activities are planned to make this year’s event a memorable one. The Louisiana Boardwalk provides an interesting setting: a carnival atmosphere, a panoramic view of downtown Shreveport and the scenic Red River, and an outdoor mall with hundreds of businesses to shop.

JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN Few people know what is required for an individual to master the

skills of a journeyman lineman. The goal of the WCLR is to showcase these skills in a competitive rodeo with challenging events and fair judging.
